Faculty and staff at BU came together with spooky, fun, and creative costumes to share treats along with support for the Brandon & District United Way at a mid-morning coffeebreak.

Employees of Brandon University can choose to donate to the United Way through online pledge forms, which include an option for payroll deduction. So far, nearly $4,000 has been raised by BU towards the current campaign, which closes Friday, Dec. 15.

Representatives of the United Way shared updates about their work, including a new program called FEYA or Financially Empowering Young Adults, which provides grocery and gas gift cards to people between the ages of 19–29 who are employed and renting or leasing their home, but who may be experiencing financial stress. Typically, people in this demographic cut back on groceries first. The United Way hope to also expand this program to cover university students in the near future.
