Brandon University to add nursing and psychiatric nursing seats

This article is over 3 years old.

Brandon University will add 32 new seats for registered nursing and registered psychiatric nursing programs at the Brandon campus, thanks to funding from the Province of Manitoba.

The expanded programs will begin in Fall 2022, and will require BU to add expanded and refreshed classroom and lab spaces as well.

“I would say that’s a really nice problem to have,” BU President David Docherty told the Brandon Sun. “It’s a problem presidents love because we’re getting more students in, we’re providing more opportunities for students across the province, educating more Manitoba learners and making a difference in health care that desperately needs it. There are far worse problems than being under pressure to get classrooms and labs ready.”
