Following a successful pilot in the School of Music, Brandon University has opened an online Vaccine Portal for students, faculty and staff to upload proof of their Covid-19 vaccination.
Vaccine status is typically provided by uploading a digital copy of your Manitoba Vaccine Card at vaccination.brandonu.ca and following the prompts.
Full vaccination is the default expectation of all members of the BU community and must be provided no later than Oct. 31 to access campus buildings or facilities.
- If you are fully vaccinated, go to vaccination.brandonu.ca, where you can sign in and follow the prompts to upload your vaccination documents. The preferred proof is the Province of Manitoba QR code, however, other government documents are also accepted. Once verified, this will ensure you have access to the Brandon University campus after Oct. 31. We anticipate high demand, so verification may take several days.
- If you are partially vaccinated, go to vaccination.brandonu.ca, where you can sign in and follow the prompts to upload your vaccination documents. Once verified, you will be eligible for rapid testing to gain provisional access to the Brandon University campus after Oct. 31. This will last until you upload proof of full vaccination. After Nov. 14, 2021, you will need to seek an exemption for continued access.
- If you are unvaccinated or unwilling to disclose your vaccination status, we encourage you to go to vaccination.brandonu.ca, sign in, and indicate your status. You will not be able to access campus after Oct. 31 but registering through the portal now will help us adjust your status if you seek and are granted an exemption.
- If you have been participating in the School of Music pilot project, please DO NOT resubmit your information. Instead, please watch your @BrandonU.ca email address for details that may apply to you.
If you’re ready to get protected against Covid-19, vaccine clinics are coming back to campus. Brandon University is partnering with Prairie Mountain Health to offer Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations in Harvest Hall next week. Vaccines are available Tuesday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 1–3 p.m. Both first and second doses are available, and the clinic is open to everyone who is eligible to receive the vaccines.
The BU Vaccination Policy applies to all students, faculty, and staff who require access to the Brandon University campus, as well as frequent contractors. This includes those who are at the Winnipeg campus, as well as those who are involved in practicum placements and who also need to follow vaccination requirements elsewhere.
The Vaccination Policy lays out the requirements, processes, and scope of the full campus vaccination requirement, as well as a path to seek exemptions for the very small number of people who cannot be vaccinated.
Exemptions are available only for those who have legitimate and substantiated medical or religious prohibitions against receiving a Covid-19 vaccine. Exemption request forms and directions are available online at BrandonU.ca/Covid-19/Vaccine-Policy/Exemptions.
Vaccine mandates like this one help ensure that we continue delivering the best educational experience possible while protecting our entire community. Brandon University has adopted this policy following the best science and evidence related to the pandemic. We look forward to working and learning together in a safe community this year
The BU Vaccine Policy and related processes, including exemptions, will be regularly reviewed, and may change for the Winter Term. Information about BU’s ongoing responses to Covid-19 are posted at BrandonU.ca/Covid-19.
