Hotel BU open for students during spring and summer

Brandon University (BU) is opening Residence doors this spring and summer for students in need of a short or longer-term stay on campus.

Hotel BU will offer flexible and affordable accommodations for students at BU, Assiniboine Community College, or other approved institutions.

Rates start at $51.50 for a single night, with no minimum stays or long-term contracts. Guests will receive a $10 complimentary food voucher for every night booked with no mandatory meal plan. Rates will be discounted for those who stay for more than 10 days, with further discounts and tax exemptions for those who stay longer than 28 days.

“We have continued to run Residence on a limited basis throughout the academic year for those who were required to be on campus, and Hotel BU will offer more options for students throughout the spring and summer,” said Residence Manager Derek Booth. “This will be convenient for any students who will be on-campus full-time for all or part of the spring or summer, as well as those who only need to drop in once in a while.

“We’ve seen how plans can change over the past year, so we’ve emphasized flexibility with no long-term commitments and the option to cancel a booking at any time.”

Hotel BU is also open to faculty and staff members in addition to students.

Full Covid-19 cleaning and safety protocols will remain in place to ensure that Hotel BU is safe as well as comfortable and convenient.
