Dr. Lisa Robson to continue as Acting Dean of Arts

Brandon University’s Acting Dean of Arts will continue in the role for another year. Dr. Lisa Robson was appointed to the role last May when the university embarked on a search for a permanent dean.

“I have relied on Dr. Robson’s dedication, insight and contributions to Brandon University in this demanding role,” said Dr. Steve Robinson, BU’s Vice-President (Academic & Provost). “We are all very thankful that she will continue for another year, providing steady leadership in the Faculty of Arts during an otherwise tumultuous time.”

Dr. Robson has been at Brandon University for more than 20 years and is a BU alumna herself. She teaches in the English and Creative Writing department, where she has served several years as chair, and in the Gender & Women’s Studies Program, where she has served as coordinator.

“Academic excellence for both students and faculty will remain my priority, as continuing to provide high-quality education and bold research is essential,” Dr. Robson said. “Even if we have had to recently change some of our tried-and-true techniques, our commitment to teaching, research and learning has never wavered.”
