Does the thought of wrangling ghosts and goblins through suppertime as well as costumes have you feeling a little spooked? Brandon University’s public dining hall has a sweet solution. Harvest Hall will be laying out a spread with their special ‘haunted buffet’ on Halloween.
Trick-or-treaters and their families are invited to come for a delicious dinner selection, with a menu that includes such delights as “roasted leg of hangman,” “ghoulish grilled cheese,” “bat wings,” graveyard mac’n cheese,” and more. Each meal comes with a drink and dessert — enough to fill up anyone for a complete evening of trickor-treating.
“Harvest Hall is one of the best-kept dining secrets in Brandon,” said Food Services Manager Nicholas Namespetra. “We’ve long been open to the public, but it’s only recently that the word is getting out. This year especially, we have invested in fresh and creative meals, with an emphasis on local.”
Along with quality, Namespetra says that Harvest Hall emphasizes value and that the Halloween haunted buffet is no exception
“We’re proud to serve great food at a great price to hundreds of hungry students every day, not to mention faculty and staff” he said. “We see a lot of BU people now bringing their families back in the evenings, and we’d be honoured to welcome your family as well. It will be fun to see all the costumes, or come before you get dressed up and get inspired.”
The Halloween haunted buffet runs from 4–8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. Adults are $12.95, kids 15 and under are half price, and kids 7 or under eat free. Parking is free in Brandon University lots after 4:30 p.m. and there is convenient access to Harvest Hall from Parking Lot 4, off 20th Street.
