The Manitoba Craft Council exhibition Play, Precarity and Survival will open at Brandon University’s (BU’s) Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art on Thursday.

The professional, travelling exhibition features the work of well-respected Canadian artists who use ceramic history, material properties and production processes to explore contemporary identities.

Sigrid Dahle curated the exhibition, which features works by Marcel Dzama, Seema Goel, Rachael Kroeker, Jeannie Mah, Monica Mercedes Martinez and Brendan Tang.

An opening reception will take place on Thursday, Sept. 29 from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Sutherland Gallery, located at 2021 Victoria Ave., in Brandon.

This exhibition was made possible through generous funding from the Winnipeg Arts Council, Manitoba Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, and the Province of Manitoba’s Arts Branch.
