Brandon University has appointed Dr. Heather Duncan and Dr. W. Dean Care to associate vice-president positions. Both will continue to also serve as deans of their respective faculties at the university.
“It gives me great pleasure to formally announce (these) appointments,” said Dr. Steve Robinson, BU’s acting Vice-President (Academic & Provost), in an email on Thursday. “Thank you both for your interest and willingness to make Brandon University a leading institution in teaching and research excellence. I look forward to working with you both on these important portfolios.”
Duncan has been appointed Associate Vice-President (Research).
She joined Brandon University in 2013 and continues to serve as the Dean of Education. She also served as the acting Vice-President (Academic & Provost) this past year. As Associate VP, she will work in cooperation with the Office of Research Services and with Robinson’s office to advance institutional research activities.
Care has been appointed Associate Vice-President (Teaching & Learning).
He joined Brandon University in 2008 and continues to serve as the Dean of Health Studies. He also served as the acting Vice-President (Academic & Provost) in 2012–13. As Associate VP, he will work in cooperation with Robinson’s office to provide executive oversight of institutional teaching and learning initiatives.
Both appointments are effective immediately and for a term until July 31, 2017.
