Brandon, MB — On May 12, 2012 SIFE Brandon and James B Chrisp UCT Council #448 will be hosting a spring clean-up event within the City of Brandon from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 pm. The city has been divided into eleven sections, where various student and non-profit organizations will be put into teams to help clean up the streets of Brandon.
At 2 p.m., a barbecue will be held after the clean-up is completed to celebrate this event and to thank all volunteers for their hard work and dedication. At this portion of the event, SIFE Brandon students will also be having their grand opening to launch Green Futures North, an urban farm located at 6th Street North and Stickney Avenue. This urban farm has been created in the North end of the city and consists of 85 raised garden beds. This gives families the opportunity to grow and sell their own fresh produce to help generate extra income.
UCT members and SIFE Brandon students thank all sponsors and supporters in advance for their help to organize this event.
