WINNIPEG, MB — Volleyball Canada is pleased to announce that the National Women’s Volleyball Team will be hosting Argentina for a four-game series in Manitoba at the end of June. Among the four formal matches, one is scheduled for Monday, June 27, at Brandon University.
This match in Brandon is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. afternoon matinee time, offering school groups from the region a year-end opportunity to see Team Canada (ranked 20th in the world) face Argentina (ranked 25th) as both teams prepare for the annual Pan American Cup the following week, and more significantly for the Olympic Qualification process that will begin in the fall.
“It’s a great chance for the people of Brandon and the Westman region to see volleyball at its highest international level,” stated Brandon University women’s volleyball head coach, Lee Carter. “Volleyball in this region is already strong and this can only help to improve it. We look forward to a great match between these two closely ranked teams.”
School groups interested in attending the match can either contact Matt Packwood at Brandon University at 204-727-7375 or the Team Canada Volleyball office in Winnipeg at 204-474-7227 for a registration form. Seating is limited so schools are encouraged to register early.
