BRANDON, MB — On Friday, February 18, the Brandon University Science Seminar Series continues with renowned philosopher and social scientist Dr. Alex Michalos. He will give a talk entitled “Good health is not the same as a good life: Report of the Brandon survey May 2010.”
About his research, Dr. Michalos writes: “There is a familiar cliché that says ‘when you’ve got your health, you’ve got everything’. Using results from a May 2010 survey of Brandon adults measuring self-reported health and quality of life, we show that the cliché is false. Good health does not equal a good life, and the determinants of both are quite different.”
Dr. Michalos will give a talk from 3 to 4 p.m., on February 18, in room 3-42, in the Brodie Building. Admission is free and this event is open to the public.
