Mini U at halfway mark and still going strong!

This article is over 15 years old.

BRANDON, MB – Mini University has now hit its half-way mark but we’re definitely not slowing down! We are heading full speed ahead into Week Four and are anticipating a great second half of this year’s camps. Not only are the campers and instructors looking forward to two more weeks of over 75 classes, we are also counting down the days to our specialty camp weeks (Aug 4 – Aug 14)! This summer we have added an extra week just for specialty camps. It’s the perfect time for kids that are absolutely crazy about a specific subject. Students spend the entire week focused on their favorite pastime or hobby.

Our specialty camps cover everything! For our music-lovers we have Guitar Camp and Musical Theatre. Our sporty kids can enjoy Badminton Camp, Soccer Camp and Judo Camp. For kids looking for a dose of nature and culture we have Pioneer Camp, Aboriginal Discovery, Archaeology and Survivor. The list goes on with Gamers Camp, Babysitting Camp, Robotics Camp and C.S.I Brandon! And remember, camps are open to campers of all skill levels, even beginners!

Another new and unique addition to Mini U is our Kiwanis Kids Leadership Challenge. Mini U has been very fortunate to receive support from the Kiwanis Club of Brandon. This is a great opportunity for kids that are looking for physical and mental challenges and want to gain life-experience through a variety of leadership activities. There is limited sponsorship available for this program, so inquire quickly!

Yes, it’s going to be a busy couple of weeks! Because with all of these specialty camps, you can be sure that there is something for everyone. We’re also going to have our little campers here right until the end of Week 7 (Aug 14) as well! Our junior program includes the Chipmunks (ages 5-6) and Moose (ages 7 -9)

But wait! We haven’t even told you the best part! There is still time to register! Actually, you can register right up until Week 7. Brochures and registration forms are available at the Brandon University Gymnasium, located at the corner of Louise Avenue and 20th Street.
